Dr Diego R. Faria is a Reader (Associate Professor) in Robotics and Intelligent Adaptive Systems at the School of Physics, Engineering, and Computer Science, University of Hertfordshire, UK, since 2022. Previously, he was a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Aston University, Birmingham, UK, from 2016 to 2022. He received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering (specializing in Instrumentation, Control, and Cognitive Robotics) from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2014, and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Systems and Robotics, University of Coimbra, focusing on Socially Assistive Robotics. Dr. Faria has successfully supervised over 60 MSc students, 3 PhD students to completion, and is currently supervising 2 additional PhD students, as well as 2 postdoctoral researchers. He has led numerous projects funded by major organizations, including EU (CHIST-ERA), EPSRC-UK, The Royal Society, Newton Fund, IEEE-RAS-SIGHT, Innovate UK (KTP), and CONFAP Brazil (Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Arauc\u00e1ria). Dr. Faria has published over 90 scientific papers in renowned international conferences, journals, and book chapters within the fields of AI and Robotics. His research interests include Neuro-Affective Intelligence, Cognitive and Social Robotics, Multisensory AI, BCI, and Dexterous Manipulation, focusing on advancing human-robot interaction, socially assistive systems, and adaptive intelligent technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
